    Content Editor / Content Overlord

    What I do

I’m responsible for producing and editing both internal and client content that’s clear, well-written and adheres to long-term marketing goals. This includes things like articles, case studies, whitepapers, website copy, blog posts and social media posts. Basically, I’m reading and/or writing something all day, every day.

    Professional background

As the most “experienced” member of the Human team, I’ve worked over 25 years in various roles, mostly marketing-related. I’m a lifelong learner, reader, writer and word nerd – one of those weirdos who sees typos and bad grammar everywhere I look.

It took me a really long time to realize this was a gift, and I use it at Human to create and improve content that’s thoughtful, useful and (hopefully) error-free.

    Values that drive me

My personal integrity is very important to me. Having had life experiences that challenged that, I’ve come to realize that without holding my own feet to the fire, I’m simply not at peace with myself.

I strive to live in such a way that, as Erma Bombeck once said, “When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, 'I used everything you gave me’.”

What I like about working at Human

Everything? Is that sufficient? Human is simply the best. I’ve never worked in an environment where people are genuinely helpful and dedicated to knocking it out of the park every.single.day.

This is especially impressive being that most of the team is just starting out in their careers. The leadership here inspires me to be more and do more, and I’ve never loved working so hard, ever. Plus, dogs in the office. :)

    Free time activities

I enjoy spending time with my family (our kids are 21 and 17), trying new restaurants, planning trips, and doing counted cross-stitch projects.
